Abu Dhabi to celebrate Oman’s 48th National Day with special shows and performances

The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) is working closely with a number of partners from the public and private sectors in the UAE capital to organise a rich programme of events to celebrate Oman’s 48th National Day.

The programme aims to attract families from the Sultanate of Oman and other GCC states to Abu Dhabi, with a showcase of entertainment events, special shopping offers, live folk performances and poetry evenings.

The activities and events to celebrate Oman’s 48th National Day will take place from 16th to 18th November.

“We are pleased to join Oman in celebrating their 48th National Day,” said HE Sultan Al Mutawa Al Dhaheri, Executive Director of Tourism Sector at DCT – Abu Dhabi. “We congratulate them on this day, which symbolises the country’s outstanding achievements in different fields. We hope for the further progress and prosperity of the Omani people and look forward to welcoming them to Abu Dhabi for our special celebrations and art shows, which will be held for three days.

“We aim to increase the number of Omani guests at the hotels in Abu Dhabi during this period by presenting a wide variety of activities and shopping promotions.”

In cooperation with private sector partners in the retail industry, DCT Abu Dhabi has organised special offers as part of the ‘Glam Nation campaign, which will offer shoppers a chance to win vouchers worth AED 100 for every AED 500 spent on health, beauty, and personal care products, as well as Oud perfume and fragrances. More than 140 stores in seven major shopping malls, including Al Wahda Mall, Yas Mall, Marina Mall, Dalma Mall, Mushrif Mall, Khalidiyah Mall and Bawadi Mall, are participating in the campaign.

In addition, Zomato will be offering special menus from 20 of Abu Dhabi’s best restaurants for a special price of AED 179. The Abu Dhabi Best Menu Initiative was launched on November 7th, 2018 and continues until UAE National Day on December 2nd. It provides an opportunity for visitors and residents of Abu Dhabi to experience delicious food made by the finest chefs. Participating restaurants include Sambusek, Punjab Grill, Chao Zhou and Serco. They will be commissioned to prepare a menu that includes their signature dishes, as well as special dishes created by their top chefs in their own style.

DCT Abu Dhabi will also offer complimentary luxury lunch or dinner vouchers at some of Abu Dhabi’s luxury hotels to Omani visitors, arriving at Abu Dhabi International Airport and from Hili and Mudeef borders in Al Ain area, for some of the city’s luxury restaurants on 18th November, including Aqua, Cuiscene, Olea and the Café. There will also be traditional performances by UAE heritage dance groups to welcome Omani passengers in the Arrivals Hall at the airport.
