EBRD Vice President Pilloux to visit Morocco
EBRD Vice President, Banking, Alain Pilloux, will visit Morocco from 25 to 27th February for meetings with government officials and businesses.
Mr Pilloux’s visit will reiterate the EBRD’s commitment to foster and boost Morocco’s economic potential through investments projects and policy engagement.
Mr Pilloux said: “This visit demonstrates our continued support for the Moroccan economy, through a continuous dialogue with the authorities, investment in public projects, the private and financial sectors as well as providing advisory to small businesses.
We intend to remain a key long-term partner to the public and private stakeholders and contribute to an inclusive and sustainable growth that promotes job creation, green economy and better regional integration. I look forward to the discussions on how we can work together even more closely and effectively.”
Accompanied by Marie-Alexandra Veilleux-Laborie, EBRD Director for Morocco, Mr Pilloux will meet Prime Minister Saadeddine Othmani, Minister of Economy and Finance and EBRD Governor, Mohamed Benchaaboun, and Minister of Energy, Aziz Rabbah. He will also meet a number of business leaders and decision-makers.
Morocco is a founding member of the EBRD and became a country of operations in 2012. To date, the Bank has invested over €1.7 billion in 50 projects in the country. The Bank has also supported more than 550 Moroccan SMEs by providing business advisory services.
