Entertainment Area at Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2019 draws in the crowds with games, educational competitions and culinary experiences

Some of the biggest crowds at this year’s Abu Dhabi International Book Fair’s (ADIBF) have been found at the Entertainment Area, which has offered amazing culinary experiences, as well as music and arts that reflect the various cultures of the region and the world.

The Entertainment Area offers creative lighting, flower arrangements, colourful decorations and delicious food, including desserts and ice cream. It also promotes the phrase “Rediscover Your Inner Harmony” to highlight the importance of caring for the body and skin, and relaxing and rejuvenating one’s health and energy through services offered by Talise Spa at the Jumeirah at Etihad Towers Hotel.

Set on a large platform in the centre of ADIBF, the Entertainment Area has seen scores of young visitors queuing in front of dessert carts, especially those selling ice cream. The Area features rows of roses and decorations, adding a sense of tranquillity for those visiting this corner. It also offers delicious coffees from around the world, including the UAE’s traditional coffee, alongside with Japanese sweets, beverages and hot drinks.

The Main Stage takes the centre of the Entertainment Area, which presents daily performances by singers and artists offering the visitors fun, entertainment and education throughout the day.

Children visiting ADIBF in the morning or the evening get to enjoy educational and entertaining competitions performed by Majid Sukkar, including word games and quizzes about the UAE, geographic information on capital cities and general information suitable to the age of the audience. The aim of these sessions is to enhance children’s general knowledge about the UAE. The competitions also help to enhance children’s knowledge about their heritage through memorised local sayings, while unleashing the children’s hidden talents through stage performances, Quran recitals, poetry readings and memory games.

ADIBF, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, is organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) and runs from 24 to 30 April, 2019.
