himaya NGO Hosts Its Annual Fundraising Gala Dinner

As part of their efforts to secure a safe and non-violent environment for children on the Lebanese territory, himaya NGO held its annual fundraising dinner under the patronage of Prime Minister Saad Hariri at the Pavillon Beirut Seaside Arena, on Friday November 9th, in the presence of several political and social figures in addition to prominent media personalities.

Hosted by TV presenter Mohammed Kais, the event started with a stunt executed by kids of different ages and genders, representing any child who might be suffering of abuse, which was previously produced in a video, in line with himaya’s “Dawwi 3al Ghalat” awareness campaign aiming to push people to report cases of child abuse.

President of himaya NGO, Mrs. Vivianne Debbas, commented on this occasion, saying: “We thank your unlimited trust in himaya’s mission and your support to its noble cause, without which we wouldn’t be able to continue the journey together. In 10 years, we were able with the support of our committee members and team, to reach with our message 639,272 people through awareness campaigns, to work with more than 368,274 people through prevention programs, as well as save 6,348 victims of child abuse.” She added: “We currently work hand in hand with four main ministries and collaborate together on initiatives aiming to improve the kids’ protection system in Lebanon and amend the laws related to minors’ protection.”

The attendees enjoyed a wonderful evening animated by the renowned singer Aziza and the talented musician Michel Fadel.

himaya NGO is dedicated to making child protection a right across Lebanon, aiming to break the silence by offering children the life skills they need to defend themselves. It has recently launched “Dawwi 3al Ghalat” awareness campaign to bring light into the darkness and push every person to report cases of child abuse.
