IL RISTORANTE NIKO ROMITO AT THE BVLGARI HOTEL SHANGHAI HAS BEEN AWARDED ITS FIRST MICHELIN STAR
Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts is extremely proud to announce that Il Ristorante Niko Romito at the Bvlgari Hotel Shanghai has been awarded a Michelin Star during the Michelin Guide presentation ceremony held in Shanghai on September 19th 2018.
Il Ristorante Niko Romito at the Bvlgari Hotel Shanghai opened only three months ago, on the 20th of June 2018, together with the inauguration of the hotel, and followed the recent openings in the Bvlgari properties of Beijing and Dubai.
Niko Romito, chef patron of 3 Michelin starred restaurant Reale in Abruzzo ranked 36th amongst the World’s 50 Best list, is now one of the very few Michelin awarded chefs in Italy to receive this prestigious acknowledgement also abroad.

Chef Niko Romito, echoing the excitement for this prestigious result said: “It’s amazing to receive this aknowledgement after only three months from the opening, on the other side of the world. Together with a great group and after two years of study and research we developed a new model of italian cuisine for the luxury world that speaks 100% Italian. This is the strenght of this project”.
The collaboration between Bvlgari Hotels and Resorts and Niko Romito started one year ago in occasion of the opening of the Bvlgari Hotel Beijing on the 27th of September 2017.
Currently, Il Ristorante Niko Romito is also present in the Bvlgari properties of Dubai, Shanghai and Milan and features a new gastronomic concept that the chef specially designed for Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts, result of nearly two years of study.
This menu, based on the chef’s philosophy of simplicity, synthesis, and a quest for the quintessence of flavor, establishes a true “canon” of contemporary Italian cuisine that expresses the culture, elegance and vitality of ‘Made in Italy’ to the maximum. Starting from traditional recipes, the ending point of the menu is a punctual yet updated philological reinterpretation of Italian heritage that is streamlined and essential.
The resident chef at the Bvlgari Hotel Shanghai is Davide Capucchio.
After a long experience in Michelin-starred restaurants between Italy and France, in 2017 Davide joined the Accademia Niko Romito for 1 year and worked closely with chef Romito to develop the new gastronomic concept for Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts. Thereafter he moved to China and took the helm of the Il Ristorante Niko Romito at the Bvlgari Hotel Shanghai.
