Duality of the perfumers…

This new fragrance was created by Perfumer Francis Kurkdjian in a duo with Maïa Lernout.

Maïa and I are on the same artistic wavelength. Our collaboration happened very naturally, inspired by the creative duo formed by Carol Lim and Humberto Leon.” – Francis Kurkdjian

Passionate about dance, with a painter for a mother and a magistrate for a father, Maïa Lernout was naturally drawn to the craft of perfume design. A skillful expert in natural raw ingredients, her compositions are infused with elegance and modernity.

Olfactory duality…

Captivating, the overdosed Black Plum is the soul of the fragrance: “ The Black Plum accord has a powerful potential of addiction, of signature. Its overdosing is a first in a floral bouquet.”- Maïa Lernout

The fragrance is magnified by a rich floral heart of Peony and Sambac Jasmine, while the Intense Vanilla note unfolds with gourmandise.


A stylized metaphor of the eye and its hypnotic power, the KENZO WORLD bottle reflects the strength of the KENZO woman.

For KENZO WORLD EAU DE PARFUM INTENSE, the iconoclastic bottle adopts a captivating deep blue and invites us to dive into a world of confident and bold femininity.

The bottle offers a mix and match of textures and effects: the gommato cap inspired by the KENZO Kalifornia bag, the suspended and mobile « pink gold drop bead » reminiscent of the « EYE » jewelry collection. The name of the fragrance, KENZO WORLD EAU DE PARFUM INTENSE, is printed in braille on the top of the box.

Spike Jonze created the KENZO WORLD film and visual. This American director, producer, screenwriter and actor, who won an Academy Award for best director, is a long-time friend of KENZO’s creative directors. His brother, Sam Spiegel, composed the upbeat tribal soundtrack specifically for KENZO. Margaret Qualley, actress and former ballet dancer embodies the irreverent chic and quirkiness of KENZO, in a spectacular choreography conceived by Ryan Heffington.
