Rotana Hotels Believe in the Abilities of Disabled By Taking Part in Beirut Marathon for the 9th Consecutive Year
For the ninth consecutive year, Gefinor Rotana and Raouché Arjaan by Rotana staff took part in the Beirut Marathon. Many staff members from various departments within the two hotels ran on November 11th in support of Anta Akhi NGO that takes care of the disabled, offering support to adults with physical, mental and multiple disabilities, who have no one else to meet the demands of their daily life.
The participants lined up in the morning to take part in the race, wearing t-shirts with Rotana and Anta Akhi logos along with the powerful statement “Run to make the impossible possible”. The race ended around noon, after which the participants gathered at Gefinor Rotana Hotel to have a tasty breakfast. Staff members gladly took part in this unique experience to support the special cause for which they chose to run this year.
Mrs. Hala Massaad the general manager for Raouche Arjaan by Rotana & Mr. Gilbert Zeait the general manager for Gefinor Rotana, commented on this participation, saying: “For Lebanon’s disabled, change is a marathon not a sprint; it takes long years of education and awareness to highlight in the mind of our society that every disabled comes with abilities. At Rotana hotels, we believe in that and praise the huge support that Anta Akhi NGO offers to adults with disabilities and it gives me great pride to be cooperating this year with this NGO and I hope that our support will help raise the awareness necessary.”
Anta Akhi’s Vice-president Roula Najm expressed her gratitude for Rotana Hotels for running in support of Anta Akhi’s cause to raise awareness for their big family. The NGO’s goal is to make us believe that no disability stops someone from being happy or from achieving their dreams. It also helps disabled patients with their daily life, since they need life accompanists to ensure these requirements are met all day long.
On another note and in line with the same noble cause, Gefinor Rotana offered a complimentary stay at its premises for Muath Al Tarify, the blind athlete who won at Jordan Marathon 2017, running under the category of special needs.
