Van Cleef & Arpels Announces the Second Edition of L’ÉCOLE in the Middle East

Following the remarkable success of its debut Middle East edition, L’ÉCOLE Van Cleef & Arpels returns in Spring, 2019. L’ÉCOLE Van Cleef & Arpels launched their first Middle East campus in Dubai in November 2017, welcoming over 3000 visitors in three weeks. Following its great success, the nomadic school will set up campus in In5 at Hai d3, from 28th March to the 13th April, 2019.

Aimed at initiating the public into the very secretive worlds of jewelry, the two weeks program will present an expressive journey through educational courses, exhibitions, cinema nights, and evening conversations. Students will have the chance to immerse themselves in the art of jewelry, guided by experts who are passionate about their subjects: art historians, virtuoso craftsmen, experienced jewelers, and gemologists.

Supported by Van Cleef & Arpels, L’ÉCOLE in Dubai will offer a program of 24 classes organized around four themes: the Savoir-Faire (know-how), the Art History of Jewelry, the Universe of Gemstones, and Creative Workshops for children.

Visitors of all ages and experience can delve into this jewelry hub, with a program filled with events and activities. Ranging from evening conversations, to landmark exhibitions and complementary outdoor cinema screenings, the campus cultivates a tailored experience for anyone interested in jewelry, art, history, and contemporary culture. Commenting on this one-of-a-kind event, Marie Vallanet-Delhom, President of L’ÉCOLE Van Cleef & Arpels said, “Our aim is to shed light on the exceptional crafts of the jewelry world to the Middle East. Following the success of the first edition, we aim to further instill an intellectual and emotional understanding of jewelry mastery through personal experience.”

This edition partners with UAE-based institutions from cultural, creative, and educational backgrounds including: Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation, Alliance Francaise, Art of Heritage, Dubai Tourism, Dubai Cares, Dubai Culture, Dubai Opera, Dubai Design District (d3), Sharjah Art Foundation, The Cultural Office of Her Highness, Lest We Forget, Institut Français des Emirats Arabes Unis, Tashkeel, and Zayed University.

“At L’ÉCOLE, we strive to collaborate with cultural and educational partners that support us in our fundamental mission of sharing our passion for craftsmanship and highlighting the local history of jewelry arts in the region,” said Alessandro Maffi, Managing Director Middle East & India Van Cleef & Arpels.

The doors to the dreamy world of jewelry making, presented by Van Cleef & Arpels to the region, will be open for registration from February, 2019.
