DIAFA celebrates global talent in Dubai; dedicates its 7th edition to the iconic Arab Cinematic legend, Faten Hamama
The scintillating skylines of Dubai Festival City witnessed spectacular red-carpet moments as DIAFA in its 7th edition, celebrated international and Arabic talent belonging to various genres. Known to follow a tradition of paying tribute to unconventional artists that redefined industry norms, DIAFA 2023 was dedicated to the iconic Arab cinematic legend, Faten Hamama.
The glittering ceremony was organized in association with the Dubai Festival City Mall, Sobha Realty, and 7 Production, Atlantis the palm hotel, Palazzo Versace, Intercontinental Dubai festival, along with Dubai Cares which collected donations to benefit the children of Gaza. Artists from around the world also contributed peace messages making the event a memorable one in terms of spreading peace and humanity.
DIAFA 2023 had its spotlight on artists from 18 countries with a selection of actors, singers, dancers, directors, and popular personalities. Awardees were selected for their distinctive contribution and outstanding achievements throughout the year, in their respective fields. Some of the renowned names that walked the aisles to receive the honor were Turkish actor Burak Deniz, Interviewer of the Stars the journalist Adnan Al Kateb, Lebanese actress Maggie Bou Ghosn, Lebanese actress Pamela El Kik, Egyptian actress Nadia El Gendy, Egyptian actress Mona Zaki, Kuwaiti actress Huda Hussein, Egyptian actor Amir Karara, abstract artist Fatima Lootah, model and American actress Nargis Fakhri, Algerian rapper and singer Soolking, Indian actress and dancer Aditi Rao Hydari, Emirati film director Nayla Al Khaja, Indian actress and model Jacqueline Fernandez, Moroccan singer Saad Lamjjared and Saudi actress Ilham Ali.
The star-studded evening witnessed mesmerizing live performances that kept the audiences enthralled and entertained throughout the event. While Lebanese singer Carol Samaha crooned some soul-touching lyrics; the region’s much-loved content creator Noha Nabil kept the engagement levels high throughout the show with Virgin Radio Dubai star and ‘Dubai Bling’ Kris Fade, ensuring the audiences have an unforgettable experience. Notable winners for the evening were Asma Ibrahim who won the ‘Falcon of the Year’ in Journalism and Iraqi artist Mahmoud Al-Turki who won the best song award for his chartbuster ‘Ashiq Majnoun’ along with Carol Samaha, and author, actor and director George Khabbaz, winning accolades for their stellar contributions in respective fields.
DIAFA 2023 was broadcast live on 10 TV stations and streaming platforms all over the world, in addition to the live streaming on social networking site “X”.
