The Fridge Warehouse, Dubai’s premier venue for original music, will host Saudi star Tamtam in her first-ever Dubai performance on December 12th, 2024. The intimate showcase marks a key stop on her Ma3assalama album launch tour, continuing The Fridge’s legacy of championing top regional voices. Award-winning singer-songwriter Jay Abo will open the evening.
Translating to “peaceful goodbye,” Ma3assalama captures Tamtam’s transformation as she lets go of self-doubt, embraces healing, and reclaims her inner strength. Though primarily in Arabic, the album speaks to all listeners, regardless of language, inviting everyone to connect with its powerful, universal messages of loss, self-love, and personal growth. The album reflects a journey of shedding insecurities and past pain, using various Arabic dialects, including Syrian, traditional Arabic, and Saudi, to symbolize Tamtam’s personal narrative and multicultural roots.
Tamtam says, “Ma3assalama represents mourning parts of myself that needed to go so I could grow,” Tamtam shares. “It’s been a humbling process, leading to an unapologetic acceptance of who I am. Now, I feel I have nothing to lose—the only thing left is to give my all.”
Ma3assalama unites a global collective of contemporary talent, from Saudi Poets Deema Sabbagh, Omayma Altamimi, and Yasmine AlFaresi, to Moroccan Producer Malca and Paris-based Creative Director Mohammed Sqalli. Visual direction comes from Mexico’s Emilio Guerra and Emiliano Cuesta, with creative involvement from LA-based Writer-Producer Charlie Cavallo and Photographer Jason Renaud. The album also features Egyptian artist Felukah and Sudanese-Egyptian artist Nadine El Roubi, who add their distinct touch to this bold creative achievement.
The result is an unflinching Arabic album that speaks a universal language. Ma3assalama is now available on all major streaming platforms.
