Dubai Comedy Festival 2024 gets a Further Infusion of Funny with the Latest Headliners Added to the Billing

The anticipation is reaching an all-time high as the Dubai Comedy Festival has just unveiled some exciting additions to its stellar 2024 lineup. Humour and non-stop laughs are the name of the game as comedy icons like Alfred Adriaan and Riaad Moosa, along with a hilarious Emirati comedy group, two Bel Masry shows take centre stage. Set to take over the city from April 12th to 20th at various locations in Dubai including Roxy Cinemas Dubai Hills Mall and Dubai Opera among others.This sensational festival will bring the best of the comedy world to Dubai, promising 9 days of uproarious hilarity and rib-tickling jokes that will leave everyone in stitches. 

 

Alfred Adriaan: Unfit and Forty – English language show  

Catch the uproarious South African stand-up comedian, Alfred Adriaan, in action as he takes to the stage at Roxy Cinemas in Dubai Hills Mall on Friday, April 19th to perform his side-splitting Unfit and Forty show. Adriaan brings his unique comedic flair to the stage with his trademark wit and relatable charm. He has a few things to say…or rather a few complaints to make. Prepare for a rollercoaster evening of hilarity as Adriaan navigates his own daily life experiences of being a middle-aged, married man with children and the highs and lows of stand-up comedy in Johannesburg with his trademark wit and relatable charm.

 Riaad Moosa: Live in Dubai – English language show  

Prepare for an unforgettable evening as South Africa’s favourite doctor-turned-comedian, Riaad Moosa, takes to the stage at Roxy Cinemas in Dubai Hills Mall on Saturday, April 20th. Loved by local and international audiences, Riaad Moosa certainly seems to have the remedy for the nation’s ills – a healthy dose of laughter, straight up – and hold the aspirin. Moosa’s performances are as thought-provoking as they are side-splitting, using observational and opinion-based humour on his experiences as a Muslim; his adventures – and misadventures – as a father of four, husband and entertainer; about life and politics. He has also earned numerous accolades including Best Actor at The South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTA’s) in 2013 for his role in the acclaimed film “Material” and Comic’s Choice Award in 2011.

Emirati Showcase: English Edition – English language show  

Prepare for a side-splitting showcase of Emirati comedic wit as the “Emirati Showcase” takes centre stage at Roxy Cinemas in Dubai Hills Mall on Saturday, April 20th. Featuring a lineup of local talents from the UAE, “Emirati” promises a blend of uproarious humour and cultural insight. The lineup set to take part in this unique show includes Abdallah Alansari, known as the “Emirati Puppet Master”, Ali Saleh Awadh, an insightful comedian not afraid of tackling difficult subjects, Abdalla Al Qassab, a psychologist turned comedian, in addition to Saif Almherie and Obaid Ali Obaid, two local talents with a knack for turning every situation into a funny anecdote.

Bel Masry Show 1 – Arabic language show 

Egypt’s first comedy factory, Bel Masry, is returning to bring some family-friendly fun to the festival, with the first of two shows taking place at Roxy Cinemas in Dubai Hills Mall on Thursday, April 18th at 9:30pm. Bel Masry, which translates to “in Egyptian”, will feature some of Egypt’s funniest men and women as they strut their stuff and keep the audience laughing throughout the evening. Get ready for a night full of humour featuring the Alexandrian funny boy Ahmed El Hareedy, a comic who blends rap into his act, because why not, the quick-witted Bernadette, who will have you in stitches with her sharp humour, the adorable and funny Reem Nabil, guaranteed to leave you giggling uncontrollably, and the crowd work master Walid Khairy, who will have the audience rolling with his spontaneous interactions. Don’t miss out on this unforgettable night of comedy!

Bel Masry Show 2 – Arabic Language Show  

Bel Mesry will be back at Roxy Cinemas in Dubai Hills Mall for an incredible second show on Friday, April 19th at 6:30pm, this time showcasing another array of exceptional comedians. The second edition of Bel Masry will again feature some of Egypt’s funniest men and women, including Ola Roshdy, an actress and hilarious comic, Mahmoud Konafa, the most famous face from the Balto TV series, stand-up comedian Islam Amin who has been spreading the laughs since 2014, Shehab El Ashry, a rising actor and comedy icon who started his career at the age of 16, and Hashem El Garhy, who has 15 years of experience on the circuit and is sure to tickle everyone’s funny bones.
