Dubai-based Expat Media has entered into a partnership with Dubai’s iconic Mohammed Bin Rashid Library as part of the library’s efforts to expand its portfolio of UAE-based magazines.
This comes as the UAE hosts the Global Media Congress. Expat Media editors handed over copies of the latest edition of Expat Media Special Edition Magazine as well as copies of the previous editions printed earlier this year. Expat Media Special Edition Magazine will now be available to the public at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library.
The event was attended by David Hirsch, Advisor for Library Services at Mohammed Bin Rashid Library; Expat Media CEO and Executive Editor Mars Yabut De los Santos; and Expat Media COO & Editor-in-Chief Florence Pia Yu.
Hirsch told the editors that he read the Expat Media Special Edition Magazine in one of the hotels he visited in Sharjah and thought that its niche content would benefit readers at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library. He also highlighted that the iconic Dubai library houses more than one million books and magazines in more than 170 languages, with efforts to continuously expand its content for the general public.
The advisor showed the Expat Media team the magazine section where Expat Media Special Edition Magazine will be housed for the reading public, along with magazine titles from various publications around the world. The delegation also visited the Treasures of the Library exhibition and learned about rare books, including a 1929 edition containing the poems of Philippine national hero Dr. Jose Rizal.
Expat Media CEO De los Santos praised the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library for its efforts to promote reading and culture, and expressed that the UAE-based media company will be delighted to supply Expat Media Special Edition Magazines for the reading public to read or take home.
During their meeting, the two parties discussed ways to enhance mutual cooperation, with Expat Media Editor-in-Chief Yu highlighting that Mohammed bin Rashid Library will be among the first to receive any other special printed publication from Expat Media.
Established in 2016 in the UAE, Expat Media produces the English-language Expat Media Special Edition Magazine and Expatmedia.net, with news, features and information for the UAE’s expat communities.
The Mohammed Bin Rashid Library is considered a landmark in Dubai. The library is built in the shape of a traditional Islamic lectern and is considered the largest of its kind in the region. The library has nine levels spanning 54,000sqm where visitors can explore thousands of printed and digital collections.
