LAST CHANCE TO VIEW ABU DHABI ART PROGRAMMES IN ABU DHABI AND AL AIN

Three of Abu Dhabi Art’s programmes, which were unveiled at the fair in November of 2023, now in their last month of exhibition. The exhibitions form part of Abu Dhabi Art’s ongoing commitment to supporting the thriving art ecosystem in Abu Dhabi and the UAE. Visitors are invited to view the exhibitions at Manarat Al Saadiyat and in Cultural Sites in Al Ain throughout the upcoming weeks:

  • Beyond Emerging Artists
Three emerging artists in the UAE are provided with a platform from which they can develop their practice and realise ambitious art projects. The artists undertake a year-long programme of workshops and studio visits with guidance from a guest curator, which leads toward the realisation of new projects for the annual Abu Dhabi Art Fair in November –
The 2023 Beyond Emerging Artists are Latifa Saeed, Almaha Jaralla, and Samo Shalaby; curated by Morad Montazami.

These exhibitions are on display at Manarat Al Saadiyat until 21 January 2024.

  • Artist Commissions in Cultural Sites
Every year, Abu Dhabi Art invites established and well-known artists to create site-specific works in historic sites in Al Ain and the wider Abu Dhabi emirate, to activate these sites and draw new audiences to them.
The commissioned artists for 2023 were Nujoom Al Ghanem and Mohamed Ahmed Ibrahim. Their work on display at the Al Jahili Fort and the Al Ain Oasis until 21 January 2024.
  • Gateway Exhibition
This annual exhibition highlights local and international artists through unique perspectives. The 2023 exhibition was curated by Venetia Porter, who chose to present a survey show for Emirati painter and multi-disciplinary artist Hashel Al Lamki. The exhibition is on display at Manarat Al Saadiyat until 21 February 2024.
