Sharjah Airport marked a significant milestone with a ceremony commemorating the launch of the first Air Arabia flight to Phuket, Thailand. The event was graced by the presence of His Excellency Ali Salem Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority, Her Excellency Nipa Nirannoot, Consul General, Thailand in Dubai, His Excellency Khanin Boony Asopat, Consul Visa, Dubai, and a group of officials and directors from the Authority and Air Arabia.
The Airbus A321 will connect Sharjah Airport and Phuket International Airport with four weekly flights, providing passengers with a more convenient option to explore one of the notable destinations in the world. This move is consistent with the Sharjah Airport Authority’s efforts to diversify and expand the range of travel options at the Airport. In addition, this step also aims to strengthen the Airport’s status as one of the most preferred airports by growing the airline networks and number of destinations.
H.E. Ali Salem Al Midfa said: “The launch of the first Air Arabia flight to Phuket in the Kingdom of Thailand demonstrates the robust cooperation between the Authority and our strategic partners, such as Air Arabia. Through this collaboration, we seek to elevate Sharjah Airport’s standing, offer a distinctive travel experience, provide premium services, and increase passenger travel options at the airport. The Authority is committed to offering the best amenities and services by utilising cutting-edge technology, such as Self Travel Service, which will provide passengers with a preferred terminal and robust infrastructure for companies operating through Sharjah Airport.”

Sharjah Airport Authority aims to expand the airport’s network and destinations with the objective of improving customers’ confidence in a safe and seamless travel experience as well as streamlined procedures at the airport. The Airport is moving forward with implementing the expansion project to increase the airport’s capacity and will work together with its strategic partners to enhance the services offered in keeping with the latest technological advancements as well as introduce new airlines and destinations.
