The CMA CGM Foundation supports the training and professional integration of 240 Lebanese young talents.

Education, a historical commitment in Lebanon

For 20 years, the CMA CGM Foundation has been deeply committed in two significant areas: humanitarian aid and education. In response to crises and based on needs, the Foundation has equipped 12 schools with solar panels, distributed school supplies to thousands of children, supported educational and sports activities to promote the development of thousands more across Lebanon, and even innovated by transforming containers into learning spaces, such as the “Container of Knowledge” and into digital spaces accessible to all children and adolescents.

Education in a different way

On the occasion of International Education Day, the Foundation also emphasizes its support for the training and professional integration of Lebanese youth who have experienced academic disengagement or are unemployed, in order to contribute to their future. Three programs have been designed to meet the needs of businesses in three thriving sectors:

  • Maritime transport, with the training of 175 seafarers by the end of December 2025 in the fields of mechanics, electrotechnics, and hospitality, in partnership with the International Maritime Academy (IMA), the European Institute for Cooperation and Development (IECD), and the French Development Agency (AFD)
  • Agriculture, with the training of 25 agricultural technicians by the summer of 2025, organized by arcenciel in collaboration with Lebanon Packing House of the CMA CGM Group, Agrotica, and the Jesuit Fathers at the Taanayel Estate in the Bekaa Valley, to contribute to the development of table grape and avocado cultivation for growing export markets.
  • Renewable energy, with the successful training of 40 technicians by the IECD in isolation techniques and the installation of solar systems in schools to improve the learning conditions of students and teachers.

Each program combines theoretical and practical lessons led by experts, with concrete applications in real-life contexts. These hands-on learning experiences follow a methodology of active pedagogy that emphasizes experience and engagement.

Guiding youth towards employment

Each of the three programs includes personalized support throughout the course in order to enhance their autonomy. From recruitment to the granting of the certificate upon successful completion of exams, It helps strengthen the individual capacities of young people based on their needs, complementing the skills they have acquired.

The skills and experience acquired will enable them to start working immediately and unlock the possibility to progress into roles with greater responsibility. This provides a genuine career prospect for determined and passionate young individuals.
