Careem, the leading ride-hailing company and one of the biggest technology organizations in the MENA region, launched its in-app alert button as an additional security feature to support its Captains in case of emergency in Lebanon and other markets in the region.
This feature allows Careem Captains to report situations like accidents, medical issues or threats that may occur to them at any time of the day. By pressing the button, Captains can immediately reach out to the company’s SSOC team.
On this occasion, Ibrahim Manna, MD of Emerging Markets at Careem, said: “We are excited to introduce this feature and we believe that it will increase the trust of our Captains and customers in our services. We are also proud of the advanced services that we are offering them in terms of transportation, and are honoured to be part of the simplest safety details of their daily lives.”
Careem ensures the safety of its customers and Captains abides by Lebanon’s Driving Law. For this reason, we are keen on offering our Captains training on the current laws and safety standards in Lebanon before extending our services to the customers. Launching the emergency button is part of the company’s efforts to ensure the safety of both customers and Captains, in parallel, it is in line with Careem’s mission to offer safe and reliable transportation services to the Lebanese community, added Manna.
