Circ to launch e-scooter service on Yas Island ahead of Race Weekend
As the UAE gears up for the 11th edition of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2019, Circ has received approval to introduce its purpose-built e-scooters on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi’s premier leisure and entertainment destination, ahead of Race Weekend.
With a number of activities, events, concerts and shows held across Yas Island over the thrilling Race Weekend, visitors from across the world are set to flock to the UAE capital. The micro-mobility champion, which has taken the region by storm since its launch in the UAE capital in July 2019, will ensure a high standard of service for the thousands of visitors to Yas Island over the weekend and throughout the peak season.
Jaideep Dhanoa, Co-Founder and CEO of Circ MENA, said: “We are excited to continue the expansion of Circ e-scooters across communities in Abu Dhabi. This is one of the busiest weekends of the year with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix taking centre stage, and by launching Circ’s services on Yas Island, we are providing visitors with a great customer experience for mobility at this year’s event. Given the large number of visitors expected for the event, our micromobility solution will help facilitate the reduction of congestion at peak hours and provide an affordable first-last mile travel option to parking and pick-up locations, along with intra-community travel to the various destinations on Yas Island..”
Circ’s e-scooters can be used in designated areas within Yas Island from 28 November onwards, in designated areas and with specified speed limits. The e-scooters will conveniently connect visitors to the various attractions, hotels and venues on Yas Island.
Bader Al Kalooti, Co-Founder of Circ, added: “Yas Island is home to thrilling world-class attractions and experiences. Apart from the highly-anticipated Race Weekend, Circ will be a welcomed addition to Yas Island and will provide a responsible mobility method that helps to build a more connected community. Users will be able to explore and experience any attraction throughout the year in a fun, clean and convenient way.”
To use the e-scooters over Race Weekend, visitors simply need to download the Circ mobile application allowing them to “unlock” and operate the e-scooters within the community. The Circ app includes safety instructions, navigational tips, guidelines, online and safe payment options, tutorials and more. All Circ rides include comprehensive insurance for personal accident, third-party liability and product liability coverage.
Yas Island Abu Dhabi is the 13th community in the UAE capital to house Circ’s e-scooters, which can also be used at the Corniche, Al Dana, Al Bateen, Reem Island, Reem Village, Marina Square, City of Lights, Golf Gardens, Al Raha Gardens, Sun & Sky, Gate & Arc, and Masdar City. Last month, Circ announced its expansion into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with further plans to drive the micro-mobility revolution across the GCC in the coming months.
