HOTELS ACROSS THE UAE TO SCREEN OFFICIAL 49TH UAE NATIONAL DAY CELEBRATIONS ?
Hotels across the UAE are preparing to act as community hubs for safe screenings of the incredible Official UAE 49th National Day live event.
This year there will be no crowds at the official National Day show and instead it will be broadcast live for free on television stations and other digital channels.
And hotels are now putting in place projectors and TV screens so both guests and local residents can come together and socially distance for the event – which will be staged in Abu Dhabi on December 2.
Peter Katusak-Huzsvar, General Manager, W Dubai – The Palm, said: “The Palm is delighted to join in on what promises to be a very different but still amazing UAE National Day. We look forward to showing the events live on TV which gives us the opportunity to allow our guests to enjoy the celebrations safely at the hotel. The UAE is very much about unity and this is a great way to bring the nation together whilst adhering to safety regulations. We wish the United Arab Emirates a very happy 49th National Day and we are proud to be part of it!
The Organising Committee recently released details of the live production held to celebrate National Day. Staged in Abu Dhabi, the show will be broadcast live to an audience of millions in the UAE and beyond, allowing the public to unite in celebration from the safety of their homes.
The event has been planned as one people can enjoy from the comfort of their homes due to COVID-19 restrictions. A huge amount of creative planning has taken place – utilising a team of experts to deliver an unprecedented live show.
The alluring mangroves, which cover swathes of the UAE’s coastline, will provide the visual inspiration for the celebrations, organisers recently revealed.
The narrative of the show follows the growth of a seed into a shoot and finally into full bloom, artistically portraying the journey the UAE has taken over the past 49 years. Named “Seeds of the Union”, the show will take the form of a moving sculpture surrounded by sea and illuminated by digital visuals portraying themes inspired by the UAE’s history and values.
National Day is the annual celebration of the UAE’s formation on December 2, 1971. As the UAE’s official annual event, National Day brings together a multitude of nationalities in united celebration of inclusivity and tolerance.
Accompanying the live performance will be a moving tribute to the UAE’s Founding Fathers. The event will act as a curtain-raiser for celebrations for the 50th UAE National Day Golden Jubilee.
In line with the UAE’s precautionary and preventive measures, the Committee follows the highest standards of health and safety to ensure everyone taking part is safe. This includes a COVID-19 testing policy for all teams and cast members involved in the show.
