LEBANESE VISIONARY RAMI BITAR CHAMPIONS SPORTS DEVELOPMENT AS CORNERSTONE OF COMMUNITY BUILDING
On the heels of his strategic sponsorship of the Beauty and Wellbeing Forum, Rami Bitar, CEO of Capital Partners and Tawfeer International, has highlighted his extensive and long-standing commitment to sports development initiatives across Lebanon. Bitar’s support of the forum, which runs from April 24-27 at Seaside Arena in Beirut, represents just one facet of his broader vision to foster wellbeing and community cohesion through strategic investments in sports and youth development.
A prominent figure in Lebanon’s business landscape, Bitar has established himself as a pivotal advocate for sports as a vehicle for social development and youth empowerment. His involvement spans multiple sporting disciplines and extends from grassroots programs to professional teams, reflecting a comprehensive approach to building stronger communities through athletic engagement and the promotion of healthy lifestyles.
“My involvement in sports began as a personal journey inspired by my son’s passion for football,” said Rami Bitar. “What started as supporting his interest quickly evolved into a vision for transforming how sports can shape young lives across Lebanon. I recognized that sports offer far more than physical activity—they provide discipline, teamwork skills, and a sense of purpose that young people carry into every aspect of their lives. This realization motivated me to expand my involvement from personal interest to institutional commitment.”
Under Bitar’s leadership, Tawfeer has implemented an ambitious youth development program that currently provides free training to approximately 200 selected adolescents. This initiative brings together international coaches and support staff to nurture emerging talents while focusing on holistic development that encompasses athletic skills, nutrition, physical wellbeing, and character building. The program’s comprehensive approach reflects Bitar’s belief that sports excellence requires attention to the complete development of young athletes.
Bitar’s sports investments extend well beyond youth programs. Through substantial funding, he has overseen the creation of state-of-the-art facilities at Al Safa Sporting Club, including a modern lounge, kitchen, gym, clinic, and padel court that have redefined infrastructure standards in Lebanese football. Additionally, Tawfeer sponsors the Sagesse Basketball Team and Tadamon Sour Football Team, has acquired a successful Futsal team that has claimed victories in both the Lebanese Futsal Association Cup and League, and has invested in a third-division football club that is undergoing ambitious restructuring with international coaching expertise.
“Sports culture is fundamental to building resilient communities,” Bitar emphasized. “When we invest in sports, we’re not just creating better athletes—we’re fostering belonging, loyalty, and collective purpose that strengthen the social fabric. Through sports, young people learn that challenges can be overcome through persistence and teamwork, that leadership means responsibility to others, and that excellence requires daily commitment. These values translate directly into stronger, more cohesive communities where individuals understand their potential to contribute meaningfully to collective success.”
Rami Bitar remains committed to expanding his sports initiatives throughout Lebanon, with plans to increase youth participation opportunities, enhance facility development, and broaden community engagement with sporting activities. By connecting his sports investments with other wellbeing initiatives like the Beauty and Wellbeing Forum, Bitar continues to advance his vision of comprehensive community development that addresses physical, mental, and social dimensions of health. His ongoing dedication to sports as a transformative social force underscores his belief that building stronger communities begins with investing in the wellbeing and potential of young people.
