Lebanon’s Iconic restaurant BARBAR makes its long-awaited Dubai Debut

The much-loved Lebanese dining institution Barbar has arrived in Dubai, bringing its authentic taste of Beirut to Hessa Street. In partnership with Kitch, the region’s first hybrid F&B operator, this famed Lebanese street food stalwart is set to make its mark on the Dubai food scene.

The Ghaziri family business was built with love from the ground up, starting with just a small corner ‘Manouche’ bakery in the heart of Beirut during the late 70’s. Today, the iconic Lebanese brand has opened its latest outpost in Dubai – a 600 square meter restaurant located on Hessa Street, offering both dine-in, takeaway and soon, delivery.  The simple yet delicious menu, filled with Lebanese flavor and authenticity will be recognized by Barbar fans and introduce much loved favorites such as shawarma, falafel, grills, and the iconic Francisco sandwich to the Dubai food scene.

For more than 40 years, Barbar’s doors remained open even during Lebanon’s toughest times and this commitment will continue in Dubai. It’s heart-warming reputation for serving its city’s residents any time and any day is one of the reasons it is so cherished, not to mention its affordable delicious meals. Serving thousands of customers daily on the streets of Beirut, it has truly become a landmark as an inclusive food haven catering to all.

Today, the Ghaziri and Kitch partnership is the start of something historic. Barbar’s presence in Dubai will be a game changing concept; a late-night diner experience with a shawarma ready to satisfy those cravings whenever they hit! Barbar’s culture of family and loyalty remains at the heart of the restaurant, ensuring customers experience the same warm welcome in Dubai as they do in Beirut.

Mohammad Al Ghaziri, Founder of Barbar, says: “After 40 years of success in Lebanon, this is an incredibly exciting time for Barbar as we expand internationally with Dubai being our first destination. Introducing our authentic street food to Dubai’s foodies is a great first step to expanding further within the Gulf region. Now more than ever, the Lebanese community will cherish the nostalgic flavours from home, while the rest of the city will discover the original taste of Beirut.

Walid Hajj, Co-founder and CEO of Kitch, adds: “It is very exciting to introduce Lebanon’s much-loved Barbar to the region. The signature recipes and authentic flavours that made Barbar a household name in Lebanon will be a go-to street food destination in Dubai. Barbar will continue to serve up the same delicious food and amazing service that has kept the crowds coming for more than 40 years. This partnership represents a truly authentic offering of Lebanese hospitality, and we are thrilled to be part of it!”
