Al Wahda FC winger, YahyaAl Ghassani, said: “I am hugely proud to be a UAE citizen and NationalDay is a great opportunity for the whole country to come together and celebrate how fortunate weall are to live in such a wonderful country.
“This year will obviously be a different experience–we often get together as a team and all join inthe fun. But this year I look forward to spending time with my family and watching the celebrationson television and I urge everyone to do the same. I know a lot of the footballers will be doing thesame andarereally excited to see what happens.”
NamedSeeds of the Union,theOfficial 49th National Day Celebrationwill be alive productionfeaturinga movingdigitally illuminatedsculpture surrounded by the seaand illuminated by digitalvisuals portraying themes inspired by the UAE’s history and values.
Staged in Abu Dhabi, it will be broadcast live to an audience of millions in the UAE and beyond,ensuring people across all seven emirates and beyond can unitein celebration from the safety of theirhomes.
‘Seeds of the Union’ has been designed by a team of talented Emiratis and multi-award-winning artistand designer, Es Devlin, who isknown for creating large-scale performative sculptures andenvironments that fuse music, language and light. She designed the closing ceremony for the London2012 Summer Olympics, the opening ceremony of the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics and the UK Pavilionat Expo 2020 Dubai.
