Registrations open for the Cultural Foundation’s Art Residency 2021
The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) has opened registrations for the third edition of the Art Residency programme at Cultural Foundation. Applications for the respected programme are open until 15 November for all Emirati and resident artists in the UAE.
The six-month residency provides professional artists with a platform to hone and advance their art practice. Cultural Foundation provides dedicated studio space, specialised resources, and access to its facilities. The residency programme will also provide participants with opportunities to produce and exhibit works within the Cultural Foundation, strengthening their presence in the local art scene.
“The Cultural Foundation’s Art Residency programme embodies our vision to cultivate and engage the creative minds in our community, and to continually grow Abu Dhabi’s artistic and cultural ecosystem,” said Reem Fadda, Director of Cultural Foundation. “From its beginnings three decades ago, Cultural Foundation has always been a haven for cultural and intellectual exchange in the very heart of the capital. It is our hope that this new cohort of resident artists will take this opportunity to not only work on their art but to grow and learn from each other in this supportive and collaborative environment.”
Applications to the programme will be reviewed by a jury made up of cultural experts, who will select ten artists as artists-in-residence. The artists accepted into the programme will start their residency either from 25 January 2021 to 20 June 2021, or from 25 June 2021 to 20 January 2022.
