Statement by Ayesha Sultan, Managing Director Growth, Serco Middle East on International Women’s Day
“On the occasion of this year’s International Women’s Day that falls on March 8, we, at Serco Middle East are proud to have an established workplace culture that aligns with this year’s theme #BalanceforBetter. By highlighting social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women, this day represents a ‘call to action’ to increase gender balance. We are glad that women make up just over 25 per cent of total employees at Serco Middle East and this number is continuously growing”.
“The UAE’s wise leadership has always supported women in their endeavors, and encouraged them to grow both professionally and personally. I can proudly say that gender balance is increasingly becoming a reality in the UAE, and the presence of women in all technical and professional capacities across all government and private sectors today has proved their merit in driving the country’s development. Recognizing the role of women in progress and to support the government in its efforts to offer more opportunities for women, Serco Middle East has recently implemented a scheme to offer more flexible working hours and we have employed 5 Emirati women as part-time employees on different projects. Serco Middle East remains firmly committed to creating more opportunities for women by presenting them with a platform to further nurture and advance their skill sets and expertise.”
