Stop & Help a Family in Need this Eid

Eid al-Adha begins on the 31 July and ends 2 August. The name translates as the ‘Festival of Sacrifice’ and honours Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his own flesh and blood for Allah. Eid al-Adha is celebrated around the world with families sharing gifts and food, not only with each other, but also with the needy. In order to fully honour Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice, it’s stated that one third of the Eid feast should be given away to those in need.

STOP & HELP is the UAE’s homegrown kindness exchange, a safe platform through which families can share food and other essential items with those in need this Eid. The process is simple. Registered supporters are connected with struggling families after completing this short form: Supporters then gift a family with essential food and childcare items via one of the UAE’s many approved online providers.

UAE influencers are leading the way, asking their audiences to follow their example and “STOP & HELP A FAMILY IN NEED THIS EID”. Our supporters include UAE-based television presenter Aishwarya Ajit, who’s available for comment as STOP & HELP’s inaugural kindness exchange ambassador.

So many hard-working families have been devastated by the pandemic and are living in poverty. Now, more than ever, the world needs kindness. May Eid al-Adha inspire it.

Eid Mubarak – ‘a blessed festival’ – to all families.
