The Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation for Education Celebrates Emirati Youth on the 49th UAE National Day
As the nation celebrates the 49th UAE National Day, the Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation for Education (AGFE) illustrates its commitment to the empowerment of Emirati youth to become successful contributors to driving the nation forward while shaping their own careers and futures.
The Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation for Education (AGFE) designed and offered the Al Ghurair Young Thinkers Program, an innovative online portal powered by Arizona State University to respond to a call from Emirati youth and leaders hip for more support in career and university preparedness. The platform has attracted more than 24,000 students between the ages of 15 and 35 years in less than two years. Offering career awareness, skill development courses, and advice to help young Emirati students prepare for their university journey and future career path, the program empowers youth to thrive and contribute to the swift development of the nation.
Dr. Sonia Ben Jaafar, Chief Executive Officer at AGFE, said: “The Emirati youth are at the heart of the UAE Centennial plan 2071, they are the driving force of the nation’s economic growth. Recognizing their potential, we developed a program that taps into the skills needed so that these young people find greater success along their education to employment journey.
We are proud of the record number of Emirati students who have joined us to explore their opportunities and develop their skills. It is an honor to serve a nation that prioritizes its youth in a noble vision that respects the role of youth in sustainable development. As a Foundation, we will continue to collaborate with partners who share our vision to encourage and support the young people of this country to raise their own standards and to be of service to the country, the region, and the world.”
The bilingual portal is offered to youth free of charge on a fully digital, web-based platform, with a mobile app version for Android and iOS that employs educational gamification techniques to encourage engagement.
