June marks Yas in Schools Finals Month, with two major events taking place, providing aspiring engineers with an opportunity to shine on the big stage.

The F1 in Schools World Finals, a virtual event, runs from 4-8 June and will involve two UAE-based teams. Yas Marina Circuit will then host the Yas in Schools National Finals presented by ADNOC from 18-20 June.

Both events will be available to watch online, with the Yas in Schools National Finals accessible via YAS TV, Yas Marina Circuit’s official YouTube channel.

The F1 in Schools World Finals will be a source of great national pride as two UAE teams compete on the global stage.

Both Hartland International School and Gems World Academy Dubai secured their passage to the World Finals after being crowned champions last November in the Rookie and Pro categories respectively at last year’s National Finals, which featured 245 students from across the UAE.

Yas in Schools presented by ADNOC aims to inspire and develop “the Engineers of the Future” by ensuring they are equipped with 21st century skills and developing their passion for STEM (science, technology, engineering, maths) learning.

Created for students to acquire important skills in a fun, interactive, and educational environment, the Yas in Schools programme enables children to work together in teams as they design, innovate, manufacture, test and race small-scale model cars.

The Yas in Schools National Finals will also feature some of the models created and designed by those children taking part in the #EtharaAtHome Challenge and the F1 in Schools Test Driver Challenge. The challengers were part of the online Top 50 challenge, designed to celebrate ADNOC’S 50th anniversary and giving the youngsters an opportunity to see their work showcased at the National Finals.

Further details in relation to both events will follow in the coming weeks.
