345 Participating Horses Registration Closes for 8th edition of the Fujairah International Arabian Horse Championship

The Higher Committee of the Fujairah International Arabian Horse Championship has announced the closure of registration for its eighth edition, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, ruler of Emirate Fujairah.

The event will be held from December 14, opposite the historic Fujairah Fort, and last for three days with the participation of the purest breeds of Arabian horses, including many studs from inside and outside the UAE.

The organizing committee reported that the total number of horses participating is 345 including 330 horses from the UAE and 15 from Arab and other international countries.

H.E. Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Alzeyoudi, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Fujairah International Arabian Horse Championship said, “The current edition of the championship has attracted a lot of participants from all over the world, which reflects the success of the championship in its past editions, and its exceptional value. It has a major role in enriching equestrian sports, which underlines that Fujairah is taking confident steps towards strengthening its position as a global destination for sports, and a platform for bring together people and cultures. Fujairah is an active partner in the UAE’s efforts to preserving its legacy and leading position as a bridge linking various cultures.”

Al Zeyoudi said the number of categories in the championship reached 18, while the participating countries reached over 10.

This year, the championship is overseen by an arbitration committee that includes elite specialists in equestrian sports. The current edition of the championship is distinguished by the addition of a jumping and dressage championship (with a jumping day, a dressage day, and three-horse beauty days). The championship includes a competition specialized in the beauty of Arabian horses, and prestigious prizes will be awarded such as The GOLDEN SWORD OF FUJAIRAH, The Horse Head Award, The Best Horse Award, and others.

Seven years ago, the Championship contributed to strengthening Fujairah’s position as a privileged destination in equestrian sports and highlighted its role in introducing the UAE’s heritage in a way that enhances the authenticity of the national identity and celebrates the legacies of Arab and Islamic civilizations.
