TotalEnergies in Lebanon Transforms Intersection Near Notre Dame des Anges, Badaro
TotalEnergies in Lebanon rehabilitated the intersection near the school, Notre Dame des Anges, Badaro. This transformative project, in collaboration with the Lebanese International Road Safety Academy (LIRSA), underscores TotalEnergies’ commitment to safe mobility.
The intersection pedestrian crossings have been enhanced with state-of-the-art 3D technology, a pioneering initiative in Lebanon, aimed at increasing visibility and awareness for drivers regarding the passage of children. Reflective cat eyes have also been added to further highlight pedestrian areas, ensuring the safety of students and pedestrians alike. Moreover, the addition of proper signage and bollards will deter double parking, promoting smoother traffic flow and safer pedestrian access.
Mr. Adrien Béchonnet, Managing Director & Country Chair of TotalEnergies Marketing Lebanon, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating: “At TotalEnergies, safety is paramount in everything we do. We are proud to fulfill our commitment to safe mobility by addressing the concerns raised by the students of Notre Dame des Anges. This intersection rehabilitation project enhances road safety and also fosters a sense of security for students, parents, and residents alike.”
In 2023, TotalEnergies in Lebanon initiated TotalEnergies Foundation competition among school students under the theme of pedestrian safe mobility. Students from many schools participated, voicing through posters their awareness messages regarding safe commuting. The winning team from Notre Dame des Anges, Badaro, expressed their concern about the lack of safe pedestrian crossings near their school. In response, TotalEnergies in Lebanon took action by rehabilitating the nearby intersection.
TotalEnergies remains committed to its mission to contribute positively to the community, embodying its core values of safety, responsibility, and sustainability.
