Liwa Village Sets New Standard for Sustainable Events with Green Initiatives and GCC’s First Mobile Battery System

Liwa Village, held as part of the Liwa International Festival 2025 in the heart of the Al Dhafra desert, made significant steps toward sustainability this year. With the event now concluded, the village set a benchmark in eco-conscious event planning by integrating renewable energy solutions and innovative technologies.

As part of its commitment to sustainability, the village integrated renewable energy, with 20% of its operations powered by solar power. Also, the village introduced the GCC’s first mobile battery system, marking a step towards energy efficiency in large-scale events. These initiatives support the UAE’s vision in reducing carbon emissions and using renewable energy.

Beyond its green efforts, Liwa Village offered visitors with six themed areas providing everything from cultural experiences and thrilling adventures to live music and culinary therapy. Visitors were able to explore the vibrant Souk, enjoy adrenaline-pumping activities in the Adrenaline Zone, and relax under the stars at Shams Liwa, amongst many other exciting offerings.
