Bellevue Medical Center Receives the Joint Commission International (JCI) Gold Seal for the Fifth Time

The Lebanese healthcare sector demonstrated once again its resilience in the face of crises and its ability to achieve high quality international standards. This is evident in the latest accomplishment of Bellevue Medical Center, who earned the Joint Commission International (JCI) Gold Seal for the fifth time. This achievement further consolidates its leadership position in delivering high-quality medical and healthcare services and prioritizing patient safety in Lebanon.

The hospital underwent a four-day evaluation by the Joint Commission International (JCI), a global leader in healthcare accreditation, and a driving force behind quality improvement in the field. Following the survey, the hospital was accredited based on multiple standards including patient safety, quality of care, leadership, and operational management. The JCI accreditation is recognized as a label of excellence in healthcare, with the organization continuously refining its standards to ensure the adoption of the latest practices in quality and patient safety.

On this occasion, the President and CEO of Bellevue Medical Center, Mr. Nayef Maalouf, stated: “We dedicate this new achievement primarily to Lebanon, reaffirming that this country will remain a beacon for the Middle East and the World in terms of quality and safety in healthcare. This award is a source of pride for us, and through it, we renew our commitment to pursue every effort to advance the hospital leadership in the region regarding quality healthcare and patient safety.” He continued: “We congratulate the doctors, nursing staff, and all employees who have never compromised on patient safety, despite the ongoing crises, and we salute their determination and perseverance in continuing to provide the best possible healthcare. We look forward to achieving even greater successes in the near future.”

Bellevue Medical Center proudly adds its fifth Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation to a series of awards and certifications it has previously received, including the Planetree International Gold certification for Excellence in Person-Centered Care, which the hospital earned twice, the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health accreditation, and multiple awards from the Arab Hospitals Federation, recognizing its achievements in sustainability of healthcare.
