BORN FROM LUNACY, BUILT FOR EXPLORATION: OAKLEY INTRODUCES A NEW GENRE OF HEADWEAR WITH MOONVEIL

From a unique experiment and pure disruption emerges the unexpected: Oakley® Moonveil, a design elevated to an art form, from and for a world yet imagined. This limited-edition collection, born from rebellion and uninhibited innovation, pushes the boundaries of what is possible. Rooted in an urge for continuous exploration, Moonveil audaciously transcends the norms, creating a whole new genre of headgear. This visionary piece of engineering empowers wearers to venture off the beaten path and explore new frontiers.

An animated concept from the world of Future Genesis brought to reality, Moonveil made its debut in Future Genesis Chapter One as a holographic projection. Symbolizing hope for a better tomorrow and a life beyond the bunker, it stands for a world free from boundaries and restrictions.

“With Moonveil, we are bridging the world inside and outside Future Genesis through a vision of empowerment and a revolutionary leap in design,” said Brian Takumi, Oakley’s VP of Brand Soul and Creative. “This sentiment is reflected in every aspect of the Moonveil, from its conceptual roots in Oakley’s animated world of Future Genesis Chapter One, to manifest itself into the real world”.

Sitting in a category of its own, Moonveil challenges conventional boundaries of innovation and style by seamlessly harmonizing eyewear and headwear. State-of-the-art Physiomorphic™ Geometry enabled Oakley designers to innovate without shape and design limitations, advancing the human experience. The result is a futuristic cloak that integrates purposeful aesthetics with multi-condition lenses to celebrate elemental resilience and adaptability.

Instead of a traditional frame with ear stems, Moonveil features a jet-black, knitted cloak, with reflective yarn lines, discreetly stitched to capture light and attention.

It includes interchangeable dual Prizm™ lens shields on a swivel system, allowing wearers to adapt intuitively to changing light conditions. The Prizm™ 24K lens provides maximum eye protection and reduces light transmission for bright environments, while the Prizm™ Low Light lens increases light intake for when it is darker. The cloak is complete with zip-off front closures for a customizable fit, allowing open-faced styling or complete anonymity, based on individual preference.

The hyper-limited release includes just 100 serialized units in existence. Each Moonveil will include original concept sketches from Oakley product designers and the Future Genesis ashcan preview comic by Dark Horse, which portrays Moonveil on the back cover.

Break away from the expected and into the future with Moonveil. The limited-edition design piece will be launching from September 2024.
