Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences Unveils Results of 6th “Innovators” Competition

Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences has revealed the winners’ names in the sixth edition of the “Innovators” competition. The competition aims to attract teams and individuals with innovative ideas and provide the appropriate environment to assist and nurture innovative ideas, transforming them into projects, and supplying the resources needed for their execution through the FabLab UAE.

The competition received a large number of entries, and the results, as well as the names of the winners and participating teams, were announced on the foundation’s social media accounts.

Ali Salem Ali bin Ghleita Al Muhairi won with his project “Aman” (Safety), while Abdullah Ahmed Mohammed Al-Hammadi and Fatima Rashid Awad won for their project “Smart Air-Water.” The team consisting of Jamal Omar Beshir, Mohammed Baraa Adnan, Farzan Sadiqi, and Zain Kamal Rizan Rizan won for their project “Solar-Powered IoT.”

Commenting on the announcement of the results of the sixth edition of the “Innovators” competition, His Excellency Dr. Khalifa Al Suwaidi, the Secretary-General and CEO of Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences, said, “We are pleased to announce the results of the ‘Innovators’ competition, which has witnessed a significant increase in participation from the targeted categories. Through this competition, we aim to explore innovative talents in the UAE society, honour them, and provide support to help them turn their ideas and projects into tangible reality through

the FabLab UAE. Participants this year presented outstanding projects, and we extend our congratulations to the competition winners, wishing them continued success. We also wish better luck to those who were not fortunate this time. We express our gratitude to the judging panels for their time and effort in evaluating the participating works. Appreciation is also extended to the team and officials responsible for the competition at the foundation and at Fab Lab for their efforts in the success of the competition.”

It is worth noting that the FabLab UAE, based at the Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences, was established based on the integrated national innovation strategy. It is the first comprehensive educational lab for innovation in the UAE, accredited by the international Fab Lab organization, meeting the standards and specifications of Fab Labs worldwide. The lab aims to create a supportive environment for innovation by providing community centres that allow the use of the latest devices, tools, and software, as well as offering training courses in the digital manufacturing world for all segments of society.
