About the KAYALI Oudgasm Collection

Crafted with passion and inspired by Mona Kattan’s intense love for oud, KAYALI’s Oudgasm Collection was 5 years in the making and celebrates the many facets of one of perfume’s most precious and opulent ingredients. These four unisex scents and perfumed oud woods were designed to magnify the magic of oud and explore the infinite universe of layering possibilities. Intense, sensual and luxurious, each fragrance offers a modern twist on the art and rituals of Middle Eastern fragrance layering – ready to be shared with the world.

Introducing KAYALI Oudgasm Perfumed Oud Wood

To complete the Oudgasm fragrance layering ritual, KAYALI is venturing into the world of perfumed oud wood that complements each of the four EDP Intense fragrances: Vanilla Oud | 36, Café Oud | 19, Rose Oud | 16 and Tobacco Oud | 04. Also known as bakhoor, burning these wood chips will help create a beautiful, intense and long-lasting scentscape with its rich, perfumed smoke. Oudgasm Perfumed Oud Wood can be used alone to create an exquisite and pleasant ambience in the home or to scent clothing and hair for a complete olfactory experience. You can also “layer” the Perfumed Oud Woods with their matching Oudgasm EDP Intense to enhance and intensify your fragrance mood.

The Perfumer

For the Oudgasm Collection, Mona approached one of the region’s leading perfumers, Hamid Merati-Kashani to collaborate with on the fragrances. As an oud afficionado, Merati-Kashani already had an extensive roster of scents exploring the many facets of this opulent note.

“Opening a new territory for KAYALI was very exciting and challenging at the same time. The idea was to push the boundaries and create something new, something never seen before using the region’s traditions and fragrance rituals together with the modern vision of KAYALI,” says Merati-Kashani, principal perfumer at dsm-firmenich.

‘I wanted to offer a variety of options – from fragrance lovers who may be experiencing oud for the first time to those who are super well versed on the ingredient. Each juice comes with its own oud intensity – with Vanilla Oud | 36 being the lightest and Tobacco Oud | 04 being the most intense,” adds Kattan.
