MAX&Co. SS25 &Co.LLABORATION with LPS “FOUND FAMILY”
MAX&Co. collaborates with Lorenzo Posocco, stylist and creative director of LPS – Lorenzo Posocco Studio, on a special capsule that pays homage to the spirit of chosen families. Titled ‘Found Family’, the collection is a love letter to families formed by choice, rather than those you were born into, where care, love, shared experiences, and, above all, a sense of belonging take centre stage.
Inspired by the visual narrative of 1990s fashion editorials and intimate portraits from the era, the collection aims to recreate a sort of communal wardrobe, where elevated, versatile pieces are conceived to be worn and loved but also swapped and passed on, just like family heirlooms – though revisited through a contemporary lens.
A dialogue between classic and unconventional, past and future, simplicity and complexity: this juxtaposition of contrasts, of unexpected pairings that make sense, reflects the ethos of ‘found families’ and is the leitmotif of the collection.
Drawing influences from the clean lines of 90s minimalism, an era and aesthetic that heavily influenced and shaped Lorenzo’s work throughout his career, simplified and high-quality designs become future classics that transcend seasons and occasions, with several pieces offering gender-inclusive and multi-generational appeal.
Discreet details and hidden functionality, such as multiple concealed zipped pockets, reinforce the mood for a minimal appearance with intricate execution. Drawstring cuffs and elasticated waists allow adjustability, while styles that can be worn in multiple ways and ultralightweight fabrics offer perfect travel-friendly, packable options.
Key items range from sportif pencil skirts, boxy shirts and stripped-back cagoules to smart-casual semi-tailored pinafore minidresses, straight-leg trousers and short playsuits. Silk peplum skirts, broderie anglaise matching sets and jersey slip dresses in metallic finishes, create additional texture and excitement. Premium butter-soft leather is used for car coats and boxy jackets while accessories and footwear include nylon belt bags, minimalist mules and lace-up shoes, leather shoppers with metal top handles and sleek sunglasses.
Colour is kept classic and timeless, with grey, black, white and sky blue anchoring the palette, lifted by golden yellow, pastel lilac and scarlet red.
The collection includes certified materials such as organic cotton and recycled taffeta. Reinforcing the idea of keepsakes, all items come in matching drawstring dust bags crafted from leftover fabrics.
The campaign, shot by American photographer Michael Bailey-Gates, follows the same 1990s sensibility at the core of the collection – recontextualised within a more inclusive, contemporary and unconventional setting.
