In partnership with The Botanist Gin, Mimi Kakushi is welcoming Giorgio Bargiani from The Connaught Bar in London for this year’s World Martini Day celebration.

The Connaught Bar, established in 2008, invited rising mixology star Ago Perrone (previously at Mimi

Kakushi for a bar shift) to infuse his innovative flair into the newly refurbished hotel bar. Since then, both Ago and Giorgio have not only built a globally renowned legacy but have also cultivated one of the most passionate and formidable teams in the bar industry.

Named the world’s best bar for two consecutive years at The World’s 50 Best Bars in 2020 and 2021, The Connaught Bar is a premier global cocktail destination, distinguished by its exceptional service and memorable guest experiences.

About Giorgio Bargiani

Giorgio Bargiani is renowned globally for his signature Martini pour. His passion for hospitality began in his aunt’s restaurant bar in Pisa, Italy, and continued as he worked in local nightclubs while studying Communications. Inspired by London’s top hotel bars, Giorgio refined his skills at the Splendido Hotel in Portofino before joining The Connaught Bar in 2014. Rising from bar back to Head Mixologist in 2019, he became a key member and ambassador of world-class cocktail-making. Named International Bartender of

the Year in 2023, Giorgio captivates guests with his showmanship and storytelling, making each drinking experience memorable.

Martini Legacy at Mimi Kakushi

Mimi Kakushi has been known for its innovative and creative cocktail scene. Kori Kakushi – meaning “hidden in ice” in Japanese is the name of the ice ceremony that Mimi Kakushi is highly recognised by. The ‘Kori Kakushi Martini’ features The Botanist Gin, infused with Japanese Ume and a hint of Mancino Secco vermouth, it is then carefully stored in bespoke bottles frozen for 7-10 days at -20 degrees celsius.

The Kori Kakushi ice ceremony is conducted tableside by our skilled bar team, the cocktail is expertly carved from the ice block, using a small knife and hammer, and presented, allowing guests to personalise their drink with a choice of garnishes, ranging from traditional olives and lemons to more adventurous options like pickled daikon and baby carrots.

During the event, the Kori Kakushi Ice Ceremony Martini will be served, alongside the world renown Connaught Martini, and a selection of collaborative pours including a joint Martini between Bar Manager Manja Stankovic from Mimi Kakushi, and Giorgio Bargiani from The Connaught.
