Pasquale Junior Natuzzi and Karim Rashid Join Forces at Dubai Design Week’s Downtown Design Forum
Downtown Design, the Middle East’s premier design fair, welcomes acclaimed designers Pasquale Junior Natuzzi and Karim Rashid to its prestigious Forum this week, adding exceptional creative insight to the event’s international lineup. Taking place from November 6-9 at the d3 Waterfront Terrace, Downtown Design, the headline event of Dubai Design Week, promises a dynamic convergence of industry leaders, celebrated designers, and cutting-edge innovations in design.
Pasquale Junior Natuzzi, Chief Brand and Creative Officer of Natuzzi Italia, will engage in a thought-provoking discussion on the “Transformative Power of Cross-Cultural Forms of Expression” on November 7, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Joined by notable panelists, including designer Nika Zupanc and Jassim AlSaddah from Babnimnim Design Studio, Natuzzi will explore how the fusion of diverse cultural elements shapes contemporary design. With his pioneering vision and emphasis on experiential design, Natuzzi has repositioned Natuzzi Italia as a lifestyle brand that reflects the rich heritage of the Mediterranean and Apulian lifestyles, underscoring the brand’s shift from products to holistic experiences.
Later that day, at 4:00 PM, industrial designer Karim Rashid will deliver the keynote, “Breaking Boundaries: Redefining Design with Karim Rashid.” Known globally for his distinct aesthetic and groundbreaking approach to product, interior, and furniture design, Rashid has made a lasting impact on both luxury and democratic design markets, having crafted signature items for brands like Natuzzi Italia, Christofle, Alessi, Bonaldo, and 3M. Rashid will share his design philosophy and discuss how breaking away from traditional norms fuels innovation and inspires the next generation of creators.
Natuzzi Italia will be showcasing its latest creations at booth B1, featuring the Memoria Sofa designed by Karim Rashid. This piece, part of the “Circle of Harmony – 65th Anniversary” collection, embodies Natuzzi Italia’s values of warmth and hospitality. Inspired by the rolling hills of Apulia, the Memoria Sofa features flowing, organic lines that reflect the brand’s Mediterranean roots. Its modular design allows for flexible configurations, while set-back armrests introduce a distinctive asymmetry, reimagining comfort and sophistication for modern living spaces.
In addition to Natuzzi Italia, Western Furniture will introduce other esteemed Italian brands at the event, including Bonaldo at booth B31 and Tonin Casa at booth B3, further demonstrating a commitment to innovation, craftsmanship, and sustainable design.
